Spicy Tangy Mochai Curry (Homecook recipes)

Tried recipe from Homecook and outcome is really very tasty.....

INGREDIENTS:
1.Mochai-1 cup(soaked for 12 hours and pressure cooked up to 7 whistles)
2.Raw Banana- 1/2(cutted in round shape)
3.Onion-1(finely chopped)
4.Tomato-1(finely Chopped)

For Grinding:
1.Ginger-1/2 inch size
2.Garlic- 4 cloves
3.Green Chili- 1
4.Dhania/Corriander Seeds- 1tsp
5.Grated Coconut- 3 tbsp
6.Cumin- 1 tsp
Grind the above in to a thick coarse paste and keep it aside. the aroma it arises is definitely not forgettable.

Preparing Tamarind Water:
In Half a cup of warm water soak a small lemon sized tamarind for about 10 minutes. then add the following list of powder's to it.
1.Turmeric Powder- 1/4 tsp
2.Chilly Powder- 3 tsp's
3.Pepper Powder- 2 tsp's
Mix all the above powders to the tamarind water and keep it aside.

For Seasoning:
1.Mustard-1 tsp
2.Fenugreek seeds- 1/4 tsp
3.Curry Leaves- 8
4.Dry Red Chilli-3
5.Oil -1/4 cup( you can reduce, if you are not using Raw Banana)

METHOD OF PREPARATION:
  • In a kadai, add oil and heat it, now add mustard and Wait till it crackles. now add fenugreek and let it turn brown in color, now add red chilli's, curry leaves and roast them.
  • Now add finely chopped onions and fry them till they get reduced in size and come along together. now add finely chopped tomatoes and fry well.
  • Now add turmeric powder a pinch and salt a pinch and fry them well.
  • Add the Raw Banana to it and mix well. let the raw banana cooked in slow flame for about 7-10 minutes.
  • Then add the Grounded Paste and Mochai and allow it to boil.
  • Now add the tamarind water and allow it to boil.
  • Add salt and water accordingly.

GOES WELL WITH:
       Hot steam rice

Andhra Brinjal Curry ~ Youtube

Andhra brinjal curry is a very spicy dish eaten with biryani,curd rice or  u can also mix with plain rice tastes really yummy which i adopted from youtube. Here is the tried recipe.....

INGREDIENTS U NEED:
1.Brinjal-6(Slit)
2.Red chilli-5-6no
3.Corriander seeds-2tbs
4.Methi seeds-1tbs
5.Mustard-1/2tbs
6.Peanuts-1/4cup
7.Cumin-1tbs
8.Turmeric powder-1/4tbs
9.Seasoning-Mustard,Methi seeds,Cumin,Curry leaves
10.Salt as needed
11.Oil

METHOD OF PREPARATION:
  • Heat a pan fry red chilli,corriander seeds,methi seeds,mustard,cumin seeds in a low flame for few mins and add roasted peanuts and switch of the flame when chilli starts turning its color and let it allow to cool and grind to fine powder and set aside.
  • Wash brinjals and slit into two halves leaving the stems.
  • Now Heat oil in a pan, add little more oil,mustard seeds,cumin,methi seeds, once its starts spluttering add brinjal ,turmeric powder and salt and let it cook in low flame for 5mins.
  • Then add grinded powder and little water and mix well and cook untill the brinjal is done well or untill oil comes up and thick. 
GOES WELL WITH:
      Biryani,Curd rice and Plain rice

Yellow Pumpkin Curry/Pulagora

Pumpkin curry we call as pulagora is a easy ,quick recipe made from simple spices.Coming to the receipe.... 

INGREDIENTS U NEED:
1.Yellow pumpkin-1(Remove the skin and seeds and cut into small pieces)
2.Green chilli-3
3.Turmeric powder-1/4tbs
4.Corriander leaves-2strings
5.Seasoning-Vadagam or Mustard,Cumin
6.Salt as needed
7.Oil

METHOD OF PREPARATION:
  • First boil the pumpkin with green chilli,turmeric powder and salt with little water let it cook untill the vegetable  becomes soft and set it aside.
  • Now In a pan,add oil,once the oil is hot add vadagam and pour this seasoning  into the boiled pumpkin and mash it altogether using masher and garnish with corriander leaves and mix well and serve. 

 
GOES WELL WITH:
         White rice

Sprouted Moong Dhal Curry with Coconut

Sprouted moong dhal in particular is very high in fiber and very easy to digest.Here is the recipe for simple and quick sprouted moong dhal curry..... 

INGREDIENTS:
1.Sprouted moong dhal
2.Onion
3.Seasoning-Mustard,Cumin,Curry leaves
4.Salt as needed
5.Oil

GRIND 1:
Onion-1
Tomato-1
Green chilli -2
Garlic-4cloves
Ginger-Little
Saunf-1/2tbs
Cinnamon-1
Cloves-1

GRIND 2:
Coconut-1/2cup

METHOD OF PREPARATION:
  • Heat  oil in a pan,add mustard,cumin and curry leaves let it splutter,then add  onion saute it for few mins. 
  • Now add grounded paste no.1 fry untill nice and brown.
  • At this stage add sprouted moong,turmeric powder and salt let it cook in the medium flame for 5mins and then add enough water and cook it untill dhal is cooked.
  • Finally add ground coconut and cook it for 5mins and garnish with corriander leaves and switch off the flame.

GOES WELL WITH:
    Dosa and Idly

Avarakai/Broadbeans Curry with Peanuts

Avarakai or chikudukai in telugu made with peanuts is our familys favorite dish and it goes and tastes very well with rice .Here is the receipe for it...

INGREDIENTS U NEED:
1.Avarakai/broadbeans-1/2lb
2.Onion-1(Chopped)
3.Tomato-1(Chopped)
4.Roasted Peanut -1cup
5.Garlic -4cloves(Don't peel the skin)
6.Chilli powder-1tbs
7.Corriander powder-1/2tbs
8.Turmeric powder-1/4tbs
9.Seasoning-Mustard,cumin,curry leaves or vadagam
10.Salt as needed
11.Oil

UTENSIL:
Deep vessel

METHOD OF PREPARATION:
  • First grind the roasted peanut and garlic into powder and keep it aside .
  • Now In a pot add 2cups of water ,add avarakai,salt,chilli powder,corriander, turmeric powder and chopped onion  and let it cook untill the vegetable is 3/4th cooked.
  • Now add the chopped tomato and powdered peanuts and mix it well together and let it cook untill little thick.
  • Meanwhile heat oil in a pan,add mustard,cumin,curry leaves or vadagam and pour it into the cooking curry and let it cook for few mins and mix well and switch off the stove and finally garnish with corriander leaves.


GOES WELL WITH:
      Plain White rice

Garlic Pepper Curry(Homecookreceipes)

I tried this curry last night with white rice it came out really good and tastes so so awesome.Definetely try this receipe out....

INGREDIENTS U NEED:
1. Garlic-1 cup
2.Shallots/Small onions-1 cup
3.Curry leaves
4.Salt
5.Sesame oil-1/2 cup
6.Fenugreek seeds/vendhayam-1/4 spoon
7.Tomatoes-2
8.Turmeric powder- 1/4 spoon
9.Urad dal-1 spoon

For Grinding:
1.Red chilli-2
2.Pepper-2 spoons
3.Corriander seeds/dhania-1 spoon
4.Cumin/jeera-1 spoon
5.Cashews-8

METHOD OF PREPARATION:
  • Have a spoon of oil in a skillet and fry all the items except cashew-nut mentioned for grinding. make a paste by adding cashews and little water. keep aside. also prepare tamarind water. 
  • Now in a kadai..have 1/2 cup of oil,add mustard,when it crackles,add fenugreek seeds, urad dal(1 spoon) and curry leaves. when they turn brown, add the garlic and small onion. fry them..till they are well cooked. 
  • Now add the grinded paste. now add sliced tomatoes and turmeric powder. fry them till tomatoes are cooked and add the grinded paste. mix well,add salt and tamaraind water. now allow it to boil..till the oil seperates and comes above.

    GOES WELL WITH:
         Hot rice,idli and dosa.

    Spicy Curry with Bitterguard

    Bitter gourds also known as bitter melons or pavakai in tamil have lot of health benefits.Lot of people won’t eat this vegetable because of it’s bitter taste, but i love this vegetable and especially i like this bitter gourd gravy which really taste good with plain rice because I am adding little jaggery to the gravy recipe to slightly balance the bitter taste.This vegetable are used in purifying blood tissues and helps in digestion and have lot more other health benefits too and also they are used to treat diabetics since they have insulin.Here goes the receipe

    INGREDIENTS U NEED:
    1.Bitterguard/Pavakai-4nos(Chopped thin round slices and remove the seeds)
    2.Onion-1(Finely chopped)
    3.Tomato-1(Finely chopped)
    4.Tamarind -3inch
    5.Tamarind extract-1cup
    6.Chilli powder-1tbs
    7.Corriander powder-1tbs
    8.Turmeric powder-pinch
    9.Jaggery-1tbs
    10.Salt-as needed
    11.Seasoning-mustard,curry leaves
    12.Oil

    UTENSIL:
    Deep bottomed pan

    METHOD OF PREPARATION:
    • First boil the bitter guard with little water with tamarind untill cooked and drain the water and remove the tamarind in it and keep it aside.
    • Now heat little more oil in a pan,add  seasoning let it splutter,add onion and fry it untill golden brown
    • Then add tomatoes and fry till they become soft 
    • At this stage add chilli,corriander,turmeric powder,salt and the bitterguard and allow it to boil untill oil seperates 
    • Finally add jaggery and mix it well and cook it for few mins and switch off the gas.
    GOES WELL WITH:
        Plain rice and Dosa

    Brinjal/Vankaya Curry ~ Chandra

    This is a very tasty vankaya kura  which i adopted from my friend chandra .The powder we are using for this receipe here u can make it and store in the airtight container for 2months so if u already have this powder in your pantry it will take 15mins to make this curry but the taste is oh my god...Here  comes the receipe.....

    INGRDIENTS:
    1.Baby/Purple brinjal-10(slit inbetween without cutting into half)
    2.Tamarind extract- 5tbs
    3.Oil-8tbs

    GRIND:
    Fry all this ingredeints in a spoon of oil and grind it without adding water
    Mustard seeds-1/2tbs
    Peanuts-2tbs
    Sesame seed-2tbs
    Red chilli-7
    Corriander seeds-2tbs
    Whole Pepper-1/2tbs
    Cumin-1/2tbs
    Fenugreek-1/4tbs
    Urad dhal-1tbs
    Chana dhal-1tbs
    Salt-as needed

    UTENSIL:
    Nonstick bottomed pan

    METHOD OF PREPARATION:
    • In a pan add little more oil,add brinjal saute it untill it is soft
    • Then add the grinded powder mix it well for few mins
    • Finally add tamarind extract cook it untill oil comes up and garnish with corriander leaves

    GOES WELL WITH:
        Plain rice and Veg biryani

    Moms Channa curry

    This curry is simple and delicious and my mom make it all the time.I am very happy to share her recipe with you all. This is my daughters favorite dish she loves this curry with dosa,chapathi  and puri.This can be served along with Indian Bread or roti or with White rice. Its very easy to prepare just takes 30mins to prepare.I hope u all like this receipe enjoy...

    INGREDIENTS U NEED:
    1.Chana-2cup(soaked in water overnight and cook it and drain the water)
    2.Onion-1medium(Chopped)
    3.Tomato-1medium(Chopped)
    4.Garlic-4cloves
    5.Chilli powder-1tbs
    6.Turmeric powder-1tbs
    7.Corriander powder-pinch
    8.Tamarind-little
    9.Salt-as per taste
    10.Oil
    11.Seasoning-Mustard,Urad dhal,Curry leaves

    GRIND:
    Garlic
    Tomato
    Onion
    Tamarind
    Grind with little water

    UTENSIL:
    Deep bottomed pan

    METHOD OF PREPARATION:
    • Heat oil in a pan, add seasoning one by one let it splutter, add grinded paste fryit untill slight brown and nice aroma.
    • Now add chilli powder,.corriander powder,turmeric powder,salt and leave it for few mins.
    • Then add boiled chana with little water and cook it for 5-10mins or untill cooked and finally garnish with corriander leaves.
       GOES WELL WITH:
            Chapathi and Puri

      Brinjal Medley

      Eggplants are common vegetable used in most of  the indian homes.One day i had a lot of eggplants left in the refrigerator i don't know what to do with it .I was just thinking and watching tv they were making this medley so i tried it out but they were not as good as i thought but i like it and i hope u like it too.

      INGREDIENTS U NEED :
      1.Brinjal-5(chopped into medium size)
      2.Onion-1(chopped finely)
      3.Garam masla powder-1/2tbs
      4.Chilli powder-1tbs
      5.Salt-as per taste
      6.Turmeric powder-pinch
      7.Corriander powder-1tbs
      8.Tamarind paste-2tbs
      9.Paneer-1cup
      10.Corriander leaves-to garnish
      11.Oil-6tbs

      METHOD OF PREPARATION:
      • Heat little more oil than regular in a pan,add onion fry it untill brown and add chilli powder,turmeric powder,salt,corriander powder,garam masala powder let it cook.
      • Add kathrikai fry it untill they are soft to touch
      • Then add tamarind paste,corriander leaves mix well let it cook for few more mins
      • Finally add paneer and cook it untill it becomes thick and garnish with corriander leaves
      GOES WELL WITH:
         Chappathi

      Spinach Curry(Pulagora)

      This spinach curry is also called as pulagora in our native place which is from my MIL.I make this spinach curry so often like twice every week.This is really good curry and also simple enough to make frequently.Try it you will fall in love with it..

      INGREDIENTS U NEED:
      1.Spinach/Palak-1bunch
      2.Green chilli-5
      3.Onion-1medium(chopped)
      4.Tamarind-2inch
      7.Salt-as per taste
      8.Seasoning-1tbs(mustard,cumin)Or vadagam
      9.Oil-2tbs

      UTENSIL:
      Deep bottomed pan

      METHOD OF PREPARATION:
      • First wash the leaves properly in a water and chopped coarsly.
      • In a vessel add spinach,green chilli,onion,tamarind and enough water,cover them and cook them untill they collapse and reduce in volume and thick
      • At this stage add salt and mash with the masher coarsly.
      • Do the tempering with vadagam or mustard and cumin seeds and pour it into the mashed spinach and mix well.

        GOES WELL WITH:
           Plain rice and ragi ball

        Brinjal/Kathrikai Pulagora

        There are so many varieties of making curry with brinjal this is one kind which my MIL makes this curry delicious and so tasty which is also my husband favorite dish.In our native place we make this curry so often which is called pulagora which means something tangy flavor made with tamarind goes very well with plain rice and ragi ball.In my blog in future everyone will be seeing more receipes with this vegetable from different people like my friends,relatives making in different way of making this curry.Anways here goes the receipe.

        INGREDIENTS:
        1.Kathrikai/Vankaya/brinjal/Egg plant-6(chopped)
        2.Green chilli-4
        3.Tomato-1/2(chopped)
        4.Turmeric powder-pinch
        5.Tamarind-little
        6.Peanut-1/2cup( make as powder)
        7.Salt-as per taste
        8.Oil
        9.Corriander leaves-to garnish(chopped)
        10.Seasoning-1tbs(mustard,cumin) or vadagam

        METHOD:
        • In a cooking  vessel add oil,mustard,cumin,green chilli,katrhikai ,turmeric powder saute it for few mins
        • Add tomato,little water,tamarind let it boil untill oil comes up.
        • Add peanut powder,salt,corriander leaves and mash it coarsly with the potato masher
        • Finally seasoned with vadagam or mustard and cumin. 
        GOES WELL WITH:
          Plain hot rice

        Beerakai/Ridgeguard Curry (Thegora) with Peanut

        We call this curry thegora in telugu which means made with peanuts .I make this curry so often in our village my MIL and my granmother they used make it all the time which tastes really tasty and good with dosa ,rice and especially i like this curry with sangati in telugu which means ragi ball .This is our speciality dish.

        INGREDIENTS U NEED:
        1.Beerakai/Ridgeguard -1(Take out the skin chopped)
        2.Green chilli-3
        3.Garlic-3(crushed)
        4.Pepper powder-1tbs
        5.Vadagam-1
        6.Oil-2tbs
        7.Salt-as per taste
        8.Peanut -1cup(raw powdered)
        9.Corriander leaves-to garnish 

        METHOD OF PREPARATION:
        • In a vessel add a cup of water,add beerakaya,green chilli  and let it half cook
        • Add peanut powder ,crushed garlic,salt  let it cook untill thick
        • Now mash with the masher and seasoned with vadagam with little oil.

          GOES WELL WITH:
               Plain rice and Dosa

          NOTE:
          U can do this curry by using the same procedure with the vegetable like snake guard and spinach

          Channa Masala ~ Madhu

          This particular Channa Masala recipe was given to me by a friend name madhu. I tasted it at her home and have been wanting to prepare it ever since. Finally got to make it yesterday. This dish is a high protein, dry saute, tangy masala curry, tastes even better garnished with fresh coriander leaves and finely chopped onions. Makes for a delicious dinner with chappathi or rice.

          INGREDIENTS U NEED:
          1.Channa - 2cup(Boiled)
          2.Ginger garlic paste-1tbs
          3.Onion-1
          4.Tomato-1
          5.Green chilli-4
          6.Chana masala powder-1tbs
          7.Chilli powder-1tbs
          8.Corriander powder-1tbs
          9.Turmeric powder-pinch
          10.Salt-as per taste
          11.Corriander leaves-to garnish
          12.Oil
          13.Cinnamon-1
          14.Cloves-3
          15.Cardamom-2
          16.Potato-2(Optional)

          GRIND:
          Onion
          Tomato
          Green chilli

          UTENSIL:
          Deep bottomed pan

          METHOD OF PREPARATION:
          • Soak the chana overnight and boil it in with enough water and drain the water and keep it aside
          • Meanwhile heat oil in a pan,add cinnamon,cardamom,cloves let it splutter and add grinded paste,gingergarlic paste,salt and turmeric powder saute it untill raw smell goes
          • Now add cooked channa ,chana masala powder.chilli powder,corriander powder and a cup of  water and cook on medium heat for few mins untill thick because it is semi dry dish.
          • Adjust the spices and salt and garnish with fresh corriander leaves and onions.


          GOES WELL WITH:
               Chappathi and rice

          Drumstick with Brinjal Curry

          Drumstick This curry is nothing but a kind of stew made with vegetables and Tamarind juice.Its one of the very tasty dish in Tamil nadu,India.It is little spicy dish,but you can adjust spiceness according to your level. This receipe is from my MIL.Try it and i hope u all like it...

          INGREDIENTS U NEED:
          1.Drumstick/Murungakai-2(cut into medium pieces)
          2.Kathrikai/Brinjal-2(cut into medium pieces)
          3.Onions-1-(chopped finely)
          4.Tomato-1(chopped finely)
          5.Garlic-4cloves(crushed)
          6.Chilli powder-1tbs
          7.Coriander powder-1tbs
          8.Turmeric powder-a pinch
          9.Salt - as per taste
          10.Oil - 2tbs
          11.Corriander leaves-To garnish
          12.Curry leaves - To garnish
          13.Seasoning-1tbs(mustard,urad dhal,cumin)
          14.Tamarind extract-1cup

          UTENSIL:
          Deep bottomed pan

          METHOD OF PREPARATION:
          • In a pan add the oil,add all the items from seasoning, when its splutter add onions let it fry untill it is translucent.
          • add the tomatos fry it untill it becomes like a paste
          • Now add drumstick and kathrikai and let it fry for few mins
          • Add salt, chilli powder,corriander powder,turmeric powder and crushed garlic and let it cook for 10mins or fry it untill the oil seperates from it.  
          • Finally add the tamarind extract and some water to it and allow it to boil for 5-7 mnts/until the vegetables cooked completely and garnish with corriander leaves.
          GOES WELL WITH:
              Plain rice

          Raddish curry With Peanut

          Raddish curry for this receipe is made with white ones and this dish tastes very delicious with rice or chappathi which i learned it from my MIL.U can make this dish with the vegetable avarakai, brinjal,drumsticks and kothavarangai  with the same procedure.Simple and easiest curry..
            
          INGREDIENTS U NEED:
          1.Raddish/Moolangi-1 (cut into inches like circles )
          2.Turmeric powder-a pinch
          3.Chilli powder-1tbs
          4.Corriander powder-1tbs
          5.Onions-1(chopped)
          6.Peanuts-1/2cup(fried and grind as powder)
          7.Tomato-1(chopped)
          8.Vadagam-1 or Seasoning-mustard,cumin
          9.Corriander leaves-little for garnishing
          10.Oil - as needed

          UTENSIL:
          Deep bottomed pan

          METHOD OF PREPARATION:
          • In a big pan add chopped raddish fry it nicely untill the raw smell goes and light brown
          • In that add little water, turmeric powder,chilli powder,corriander powder,salt and let it boil for few mins
          • After few mins add chopped onions,tomato,peanut powder let it cook for 10mins untill raddish cooked well
          • Then do the tempering with vadagam or seasoning and combine well 
          • Finally garnish with corriander leaves
          GOES WELL WITH:
               Plain rice

          Spinach Curry/Thegora

          Spinach with peanut is a delightful combination of flavor which i love it.I make this spinach curry which we call as thegora in telugu so often.This is part of basic everyday meal, versatile, feel good kind of curry and also simple enough to make frequently which i got it from my MIL.Overall this is very healthy and flavorful dish.

          INGREDIENTS U NEED:
          1.Spinach- 1bunch(chopped finely)
          2.Peanut- 1cup(grind coarsly)
          3.Green chilly - 4-6nos
          4.Garlic- 4cloves
          5.Vadagam - little or Seasoning-1tbs(mustard,cumin,urad dhal)
          6.Oil

          UTENSIL:
          Deep bottomed pan

          METHOD OF PREPARATION:
          • In a deep bottomed pan add chopped spianch,green chilly,garlic,little water let it cook for 5-10mins
          • Then add grinded peanut powder let it cook for 10mins untill all cooked well and let it cool down
          • Now using masher mix all together untill coarsly .
          • Then do the seasoning with vadagam in a spoon of oil and pour it into the coarsly mashed spinach and combine altogether well and serve it.

            GOES WELL WITH:
                  Ragi ball,rice and dosa

            Eggplant Sutadhu ~ Nimi

            I was never a fan of brinjals/egg plant/ baingan until i got married, because at my moms home she never makes any curry with brinjal because she don't like that vegetable, so after i got married my MIL makes so many dishes with this vegetable, i started liking it so much and now i make it all the time but this receipe is from my frind nimi.This dish very easy and simple to make with few ingredients.

            INGREDIENTS U NEED:
             1.Kathrikai/Brinjal- 1big
            2.Onions- 1(Finely chopped)
            3.Green chilly - 3(Finely chopped)
            4.Seasoning-Mustard ,Cumin,Urad dhal

            UTENSIL:
            Wide pan

            METHOD OF PREPARATION:
            • First apply oil on top of the brinjal and put it in the oven or gas untill the skin becomes black and let it cool down 
            • Then mash it coarsly  using spoon or hands and keep it aside
            • Now heat oil in a pan,add seasoning let it splutter,now add onions and green chilly  fry it untill light brown
            • At this stage add mashed kathrikai for few mins and cook it well untill it becomes thick and desired  consistency.
            GOES WELL WITH:
                Plain rice

            Green Tomato Pulagora with Peanuts

            Green tomatos are also called as Tomatillos which are cheap and available easily in any grocery store but i never tried it before .But When we went to india last time my MIL made this dish  for me is also called as pulagora without adding dhal and i liked it so much.It tasted so good with the plain rice.I love its tangy flavor.  Hope u all will like it too..

            INGREDIENTS U NEED:
            1.Green tomato - 2(cut into pieces)
            2.Green chilly - 4nos
            3.Peanut-1/2cup(make into powder)
            4.Vadagam - little or Seasoning-mustard,cumin,urad dhal
            5.Salt-as per taste
            6.Turmeric powder - a pinch
            7.Oil

            UTENSIL:
            Deep bottomed pan

            METHOD OF PREPARATION:
            • Heat oil in a pan,add tomato,green chilly let it cook for 5-10mins
            • Then add salt,turmeric powder let it boil for few more mins
            • Now add grinded peanut powder and cook it untill the tomatos are well cooked and mash it coarsly with masher.
            • Finally do the seasoning with vadagam and pour into the coarsly mashed tomatos and garnish with corriander leaves.

                GOES WELL WITH:
                       Plain rice

                GreenTomato Pulagora with Lentils

                Green tomato curry is made with lentils and tomatoes tastes very well with plain rice and dosa or idly and it is very simple to make.This Green tomato curry tastes little tangy but tastes really good which i got it from my MIL.Here's a quick and easy receipe.....  

                INGREDIENTS U NEED:
                1.Toor dhal - 1/2cup
                2.Green tomato-5(roughly chopped)
                3.Green chilli - 3
                4.Garlic - 3cloves
                5.Tomato -1(roughly chopped)
                6.Vadagam - 2 or Seasoning-1tbs(mustard,cumin)
                7.Turmeric powder - a pinch
                8.Corriander leaves - for garnishing
                9.Salt-as per taste
                10.Oil-as needed

                UTENSIL:
                Vessel

                METHOD OF PREPARATION :
                • In a vessel cook toor dhal untill half cooked ,in that add  green tomato,green chilli,garlic with a pinch of turmeric powder and salt.
                • Let it cool down for sometime then mash it coarsly with the masher
                • Then do the seasoning with vadagam and pour it into the mashed dhal.
                • Finally garnish with corriander leaves.

                  GOES WELL WITH:
                       Plain rice
