Ragi Ball

Ragi ball is something very easy to prepare and it is very healthy. Any food made with ragi flour is very healthy,ragi is high in fiber content we make so many items with ragi like ragi pakoda,roti,dosa,kanji etc.Everybody call with different name like ragi mudhae ,ragi ball but in our native we call as sangati in telugu which is my husband and grandparents favorite food .These days lot of people include ragi in their food especially diabetics patients eat this ragi ball everyday i remember my grandfather used to eat this every single day even though he was healthy and they used to say people who consume ragi everyday have more physical strength than others.I always make this for lunch or breakfast during the weeknends.  Alright it is very simple to make  here goes the receipe...

INGREDIENTS U  NEED:
1.Raw rice - 1/2cup
2.Salt - a pinch
3.Water - 4cup
4.Ragi flour-11/2cup

UTENSIL:
Ragi stick or mathu
Heavy bottomed pan

METHOD OF PREPARATION:
  • Boil water in a pot ,when the water starts to boil add rice and cook it untill rice is almost cooked(u can also use precooked rice)
  • Then reduce the flame and add ragi flour and little salt mix once let it cook for 10mins (this has to little thick )do not keep on mixing  
  • Using heavy stick swirl all the contents into a ball and make sure that there is no lumps
  • Keep the cold water handy in a cup (because the flour is so hot from the stove which makes it easy )then dip yours hands into the water and start making small balls out of the ragi flour as many as u want and arrange it in the plates and serve it hot.
    GOES WELL WITH:
         Chicken curry,Peanut chutney,Spinach curry(Thegora and Pulagora)
